| Duplicates |
|
There are a tremendous number of duplications in the character's
names, their appearance, their manner of death, their professions,
and in the circumstances in which they find themselves.
These
duplications are the result of the 'game players' choosing
characteristics and scenarios from a pre-set list of choices
or options. For example, these choices may result in characters
that utilize the same avatars so they look the same, or with
characters having the same name, or with an unusual number
of people dying from a broken neck.
Once
again, it is possible that the game itself may be inserting
some of these, as is the case with the duplicate Fail Safes.
The game itself obviously required that the Fail Safe in each
of the first two levels had to be identified and utilized
for the 'game players' to move on to the next level of the
game.

| Fail
Safe |
| There
have been two references to a Fail Safe.
Not only did Desmond have and use the Fail Safe key in S2E24,
but if you go back and watch S1E24 you will notice that when
Locke is talking with Jack, he refers to splitting up the
dynamite as a Fail Safe. For the importance of there being
two different Fail Safes see the Level 1 and Level 2 Objectives

Names |
While
most fans seem to concentrate on there being so many Tom's
on LOST, there are many duplicate names for characters.
The same names occur as a result of the 'game players' choosing
these names from a pre-set list in the game prompts.
For
example: Edward Mars the marshall; Eddie the security guard;
Eddie Colburn the undercover cop; and Juliet's ex-husband
Edmund Burke.

Manner of Death |
|
The
mode of death appears to be another area where the game
is presenting a list of pre-set options to the 'game player'.
While Christian Shephard died from a heart attack and so
did Mr. Bissoni, and there are many characters who have
died in crashes or as the result of their injuries.
But,
there are an amazing number of characters who have died
from a broken neck. Not a very common cause of death in
real life. For example: Scott Jackson in S1E15, Nathan in
S2E7 and the real Henry Gale S2E18

Lofts complex, heard loud noises coming from the victim's
loft. Concerned for tenants' safety, he entered the loft and
found the body hanging from a beam in the living room. according
to Jamie Ortiz, a police spokesperson, the incident was deemed
a suicide after medical tests. Betham (sic) is survived by

Fates, Circumstances & Props |
The
most discussed of these is probably the large number of
car accidents that have occurred with what seems to be the
same car. How can the same car be in NYC (Michael S1E14),
Iowa (Kate & Tom S1E22) and California (Locke S1E19)?
It can be, if the game is responsible for the make and model
of the car.
And
of course there are the polar bears.
